Comment

Starting in 2018 and in order to disseminate and popularize numismatic collecting, the National Factory of Currency and Timbre-Real Casa de la Moneda, issues a series of coins dedicated to the memory of the History of Navigation. This collection represents a selection of boats that, for one reason or another, have been relevant over time. The collection will consist of a total of 20 coins that will be made available to the public in five issues of four coins, each one. All coins are made of cupro-nickel with a face value of € 1.5 and have a reverse common. Their anverses represent to color each one of the selected boats, which contributes a greater degree of realism to this image.

Interesting fact

The 1.5 Euro Chinese Champatian coin from Spain, made of copper-nickel and weighing 15g, features an image of a panda on one side and the Spanish coat of arms on the other. This coin was released in 2019 as a non-circulating coin, meaning it was not intended for general circulation and was instead produced for collectors. The panda is a symbol of friendship and diplomacy between China and Spain, and its inclusion on the coin highlights the strong relations between the two countries.
