Comment
The denominations of the bronze coinage of the kingdoms of Cyprus are unknown to numismatists and thus are only refered to as AE, with the diameter after it. According to Sear (GCV, Vol.2, 2017), as the lower silver denominations were difficult to use due to their too small size, it is believed that these bronze coins were used as tokens to replace them and making everyday transactions easier. The weight variations of them also suggests that the weight of the AE coinage was not as precisely controlled.BMC Greek Vol.24 Pl.XXIV.17
Some sources, like Hill and Tziambazis, say this coin was minted under Evagoras II, which would place this coin's date-range from -361 to -351. Other sources say this coin is from Nikokreon's reign, which would place this coin from -322 to -310.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a rare image of a ancient Cypriot king, Evagoras II, who ruled Salamis of Cyprus during 361 BC - 351 BC.
