Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it has a unique countermark, "CrownedG.P.", which was added over the original denomination "960 Réis - João Regent; Brazil" to indicate that it was issued by the Portuguese government, specifically during the regency of King Luis I. This countermark was used on coins issued in the Azores, a group of islands in the Atlantic Ocean that was a Portuguese territory at the time. The coin's design, material, and weight also make it stand out, as it features the image of King Luis I on one side and the Portuguese coat of arms on the other, and is made of silver with a weight of 27 grams.
