Interesting fact

The obverse (front) side of the coin features a portrait of a bearded man, believed to be a representation of the mythical founder of Iasos, Telches. The reverse (back) side of the coin depicts a stork standing on a dolphin, which is a symbol of the city's maritime trade and connection to the sea. The stork and dolphin motif was a common design element on coins from Iasos during this time period.
