Octagonal, as with most other issues. A very rare example (a Stack's Bowers auction listed this particular example pictured as possibly the only example in private hands) with a number of jewelry strikes made independently by jewelers which were not made as currency.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1/16 Mohur coin from the Kingdom of Assam is that it features an image of Gaurinath Singha, the ruler of the kingdom, on one side, and an image of a lion on the other side. This coin was made of gold and weighed 0.55 grams. It was used as a standard circulation coin during Gaurinath Singha's reign from 1780 to 1796.
