Both medal & coin alignments exist for the 1835 date.There are a number of differences between the 1835 (shown below) and 1848 (main image) coins. Most obvious are the finer lines under the shield (obverse) and the open loops of ribbon (bottom of the reverse) on the 1848 coins.
Interesting fact
