Interesting fact
The obverse (front) side of the coin features a helmeted head of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, war, and crafts. The helmet is decorated with a spiral motif, which was a common feature of ancient Greek helmets. The reverse (back) side of the coin shows a quadriga (a four-horse chariot) driven by a charioteer, with the horses galloping in a spirited manner. The coin's design reflects the importance of Athena as a patron deity of the city of Klazomenai, and the quadriga may represent the city's participation in athletic events or military campaigns.
