Interesting fact
The obverse (front) side of the coin features a helmeted head of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, war, and crafts, while the reverse (back) side depicts a jumping griffin, which was a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle. This coin was issued during the reign of King Mausolus, who ruled over the ancient city of Knidos in what is now modern-day Turkey.
