Interesting fact
The Pattern 1000 Shillings coin was designed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Uganda's independence from British colonial rule. The coin features the national emblem of Uganda, a crested crane, on one side, and the coat of arms of the country on the other. The coin was minted in 1994 and has a limited mintage of only 10,000 pieces, making it a rare and valuable collector's item for numismatists.
