The Torre de los Homenajes (Tributes Tower), is a tower 98m tall (281.6ft.), placed at the Estadio Centenario (Centenary Stadium); this soccer stadium was built to host 1st. Soccer World Championship on 1930 (built in only 9 months), and was declared as Historic Monument of World Soccer by FIFA.

Central Bank of Uruguay was given authorization to mint up to 50,000 pieces for this event (FIFA World Cup 2006), for which finally were minted 3 different coins: KM# 122 (2003), KM # 123 (2004) and KM# 124 (2005), being produced 900 of each.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted to commemorate the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup, which was held in Germany. The coin's design features the tournament's logo and the image of a soccer player in action, surrounded by the words "Copa FIFA Confederaciones 2005" (FIFA Confederations Cup 2005) and "Uruguay" in Spanish. This coin is a unique collector's item for soccer fans and coin collectors alike, as it not only commemorates a significant sporting event but also showcases Uruguay's rich history and culture.
