Interesting fact
The Coelecanth, a prehistoric fish thought to have been extinct for millions of years, was discovered alive and well in the depths of Lake Tanganyika in Zambia in 1938. To commemorate this remarkable discovery, the Zambian government issued a series of coins featuring the Coelecanth, including the 1000 Kwacha coin minted in 2001.
