Interesting fact

The 1000 Kroner - Margrethe II (4th Portrait - Polar Year) 2007 coin from Denmark is unique in that it was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first polar year, a scientific expedition led by Danish explorer Ludvig Mylius-Erichsen to study the Arctic region. The coin's design features an image of Queen Margrethe II on one side and a depiction of the polar region on the other, with the polar bear and the aurora borealis (northern lights) prominently featured.
