Bust of JANUSZ KORCZAK (PRÓBA = TRIAL)
born July 22, 1878, died August 5, 1942, real name Henryk Goldszmit, was a Polish physician, pediatrician and writer. Before the Second World War, he was one of the most renowned figures in child pedagogy. He left his name to posterity for having deliberately chosen to be deported to Treblinka with the Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto he was caring for in an orphanage.
