This series of five coins made of precious metals is dedicated to the brown bear. Brown bears are found in the Caucasus, on the Kamchatka peninsular, in Siberia and in the Maritime Territory of the Far East. A brown bear may be 2.5 metres long and weighs more than 300 kilograms. It is an omnivorous animal whose population is declining.

Interesting fact

The 1993 Russian 100 Rouble Gold Coin featuring the Brown Bear has a unique feature - it has a mirror-like finish, giving it a distinctive look that sets it apart from other coins.
