Date of issue: 29 JUN 2007The first Russian railway for public use was built in 1837 for supplying railway connection between Saint Petersburg, Tsarskoye Selo and Pavlovsk. The experience of building and exploitation of Tsarskoye Selo’s railway showed the possibility, profitability and practicability of railway transport in Russian climate.
