This kwanza suffered from inflation and it was replaced in 1995 by kwanza reajustado (at a rate of 1,000 to 1) and since, the inflation continued; this currency was also replaced in 1999 by Second kwanza, ISO 4217 code AOA (at a rate of 1,000,000 to 1)
Both these currencies had only Bank notes issues and no coins were issued.
