Interesting fact
The Discobole coin was designed by French sculptor and engraver, Auguste Rodin, and features a depiction of a man throwing a discus on the obverse side. The coin was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Auguste Rodin, and the design was inspired by Rodin's famous sculpture, "The Discobolus," which is a representation of the ancient Greek athlete, Myron of Eleutherae, throwing a discus.
