Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 100 Francs 1907-1914 coin from France is that it was minted during a time when France was transitioning from a gold standard to a silver standard. The coin was minted with a gold content of .900, which was a higher gold content than previous French coins. This was done to try to maintain the value of the franc against other currencies, as the value of silver was dropping relative to gold at the time. Despite this effort, France eventually abandoned the gold standard in 1914 and switched to a silver standard.
