Reverse
Marianne in profile wearing the Phrygian cap, a crown of olive and oak, referring to peace and fertility for the former and strength and solidity for the latter, as well as the cockade whose national colors have been treated in heraldry. The "L" of liberty is transformed into a flight of birds which, arriving in the blue of the cockade, frees itself symbolizing the space of liberty that the Republic must be.

Interesting fact
The 2017 100 Euro Marianne coin from France features a unique design that was created by the French artist, Joaquin Jimenez. The design depicts a portrait of Marianne, the national symbol of France, surrounded by a wreath of olive branches and the words "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité" (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity) inscribed at the bottom. The coin's design was meant to symbolize the values of the French Republic and to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the introduction of the Euro.
