This elk coin is the third in the Sculpture of Majestic Canadian Animals coin series, which depicts animals in a uniquely multi-dimensional approachWith its multi-tined rack of antlers, the elk or wapiti (Cervus canadensis) cuts a distinctive figure in the grasslands and forests of western Canada and Ontario. The second-largest member of the deer family is particularly impressive to see or hear during the rutting season, when the male emits a chilling bugle that shatters nature’s silence.
