Struck by The Perth Mint which only makes collector and bullion coins, as well as other bullion products.This coin is part of the long-running Australian Kangaroo bullion coin series by the Perth Mint, and is a "numismatic" issue with a one-year design. It is the high relief version of the gold ounce; there is also another gold ounce, which has regular relief and larger diameter, and is thinner. (See link)

Magnificently struck in brilliant high relief, this 1oz coin features the 2018 Australian Kangaroo design. The coin's reverse depicts two kangaroos bounding across a stylised rural landscape. The coin has been struck with a high relief die which imparts an unusually deep impression on its extra thick blank, enhancing the depth and wonderful details of the design.
