Interesting fact
The 100 Cruzeiros coin was part of a series of coins introduced in 1992 to replace the old cruzeiro real currency, which had been in use since 1942. The coin features the image of a bird, known as the "pau-brasil," which is a symbol of Brazil and is also the country's national bird. The coin was designed by the artist and engraver, Maria Helena Andrés, and it was minted by the Brazilian Mint, also known as the Casa da Moeda do Brasil.
