Cichociemni (can be translated as "Silent Unseen" or "Dark and Silent") were elite special-operations unit of the Polish Army in exile, created in Great Britain during World War II. They operated in Nazi-occupied Poland. The first operation took place on 16th February 1941 and till December 1944 316 paratroopers were dropped over Poland. The insignia and tradition of "Cichociemni" were adopted by a famous Polish special forces unit "GROM" ("Thunder") created in 1995.The coin was issued on 16th February 2016 - 75 years after the first drop of Cichociemni. The coins was sold in a dark-green box with a certificate. Official sales price: 120 PLN. Mintage "up to 15.000" - not exactly specified.
