The obverse of the coin features a portrait of King Sigismund II Augustus, who was the last king of Poland and ruled from 1548 to 1572. The reverse of the coin depicts a panoramic view of Warsaw, including the Old Town and the Royal Castle. The coin's design was created by Polish artist and engraver, Andrzej Stelmachowski.
