Comment

Mamenchisaurus is a genus of sauropod dinosaur known for their remarkably long necks which made up nearly half the total body length.Numerous species have been assigned to the genus; however, many of these might be questionable. Fossils have been found in the Sichuan Basin and Yannan Province in China. Several species are from the Upper Shaximiao Formation whose geologic age is uncertain. However, evidence suggests that this be no earlier than the Oxfordian stage of the Late Jurassic.

Interesting fact

The Mamenchisaurus coin from North Korea features an image of a dinosaur, specifically a Mamenchisaurus, which is a type of sauropod that lived during the Jurassic period. It's interesting to note that the coin's design is quite unique, as it depicts the dinosaur in a more cartoonish style, rather than a realistic one. This choice of design may have been made to make the coin more appealing to collectors, especially children, who are often fascinated by dinosaurs.
