Interesting fact
The Pattern 10 Sen coin was designed by the Japanese government in 1939 as a proposed replacement for the existing 10 sen coin, which was made of bronze. However, due to the outbreak of World War II, the production of the new coin was halted, and only a small number of pattern coins were minted. As a result, the Pattern 10 Sen - Shōwa (Pattern) 14 (1939) coin is now a rare and highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists.
