Parakrama Samudra or King Parakrama's Sea is a shallow reservoir made up of three separate reservoirs linked by narrow canals in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. The northern reservoir, the oldest, was built around 386. The central and southernmost portions were added and the reservoir enlarged during the reign of King Parakramabahu I.
The statue, commonly known as the Parakramabahu statue, is a stone sculpture. Its identity is uncertain, although the widely accepted theory is that it is the statue of Parakramabahu I. However, it has also been suggested that it is the statue of the sage Poulasti.
