The mascot featured on the coin, a friendly yeti named Snowy, was designed by a Russian artist named Elena V. Mukhina. Snowy was chosen as the official mascot for the 2019 Winter Universiade, which was held in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. The coin was issued to commemorate the event and features Snowy in a playful pose, surrounded by snowflakes and the Universiade's logo.
