Comment

In 2020, intended to coincide with the launch of the new James Bond 007 movie No Time to Die, the Royal Mint released a series of special issue James Bond 007 Aston Martin DB5 coins. As it turned out, the movie launch was delayed due to the international Covid-19 pandemic and released September 2021, this coin was issued as the film was released.

The coin was also struck in a variety of denominations and metals including copper-nickel, silver proof and gold proof, with most issued in 2020. Issue limit: 130.

Note - the registration number on the car is different to the Silver proof version.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the James Bond Silver Piedfort coin is that it features a unique obverse design, showcasing a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, created by sculptor and engraver, Jody Clark. This is the first time that a non-circulating coin has featured this particular portrait of the Queen, making it a distinctive and collectible piece for coin enthusiasts and James Bond fans alike.
