Reverse
The design is centred on The Duke of Cambridge’s personal Coat of Arms given to him to mark his 18th birthday. The design is derived from his father’s Coat of Arms with elements from the heraldic badge used by his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. The Duke’s Coat of Arms has been updated to include a Blue Garter sash to symbolise his appointment as Knight of the Garter.
Roman numbers MCMLXXXII MMXII (representing 1982 and 2012 respectively) is repeated around the perimeter of the edge and around the coat of arms in two lines of text.

Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique reverse design, showcasing a portrait of Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, whereas most coins featuring Queen Elizabeth II depict her alone.
