Comment

The Wieselstein is a massive boulder reminiscent of a menhir and is the subject of many legends. It is six meters high, four meters wide and was the meeting point of the miners during the great strikes of 1920 because a speaker was clearly visible to the crowd on it. It lies between the mining settlement (cité) of Cuvelette and the Reumaux mine.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 10 Pfennigs - Merlenbach 1917 coin is that it was minted during a time of great turmoil and change in the region. The Imperial territory of Alsace-Lorraine, where the coin was minted, was a disputed territory between Germany and France, and it was eventually returned to France after World War I. This coin, therefore, serves as a tangible reminder of the complex history of the region and the political tensions that existed during that time.
