Comment
Vicente Yáñez Pinzón was a Spanish explorer, captain of "La Niña" ship, on the first Columbus trip to America. Columbus commanded the "Santa María" ship, as leader of the expedition, but "La Niña" was a much more faster vessel, so it reached America first. Sailing on "La Niña", Rodrigo de Triana was the first European to see American land, and he announced it with the famous "Tierra!, Tierra!"Interesting fact
The 10 Pesos (Vicente Yáñez Pinzón) 1997 coin from Cuba is interesting because it features a unique design that showcases the country's rich history and culture. The coin's obverse side features an image of Vicente Yáñez Pinzón, a Spanish explorer who played a significant role in the discovery of Cuba, while the reverse side features a stunning depiction of a Cuban crocodile, a species that is native to the island. This coin is a great example of how numismatics can serve as a window into a country's past and present, and it would make an excellent addition to any coin collection.
