Comment
Pinzón brothers, naturals of Palos, the port from where the Columbus fleet departed, were seamen who shared the discovery of America along with Christopher Columbus. They were captains of the ships La Pinta and la Niña, while Columbus (captain of the expedition) were of the Santa María. A third brother, Francisco Martín, also participated the expedition as master. In fact Pinzón was the mother's last name, and father's was Yáñez, but they are more referred as Pinzón, and sometimes as Yáñez Pinzón, rarely as Yáñez alone.
