José Martí attended the American International Monetary Conference representing Uruguay, as at the moment was Uruguayan Consul at New York.Martí was one of the most active participants, and defended 2 main points: to unify currency for all American countries, which was never achieved and the other was not to allow the celebration of next Conference limited only to the main economic potences, next conferences were held to all the American countries.
