When adding years to coin designs the Isle of Man used one style for the digits until 1989 and another style from 1990 on (with the exception of 20 Pence coins from 1998 on). The difference is most easily noticed in the 9s and 6s in the date. This type exists with both styles.

Interesting fact

The 10 pence coin featuring Elizabeth II with a portcullis on a map was designed by sculptor and engraver, Raphael Maklouf. He is known for his work on various coins and medals, including the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II that has been used on British coins since 1983.
