Comment
Struck in error using the obverse die of KM#1110 (Sp#F6) and the reverse die of KM#989 (Sp#F5), only 2 or 3 examples known. From 1998 to 2008, the standard circulation 10 pence piece was struck with the Ian Rank-Broadley fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and Christopher Ironside's crowned lion reverse, which first appeared on the new decimal issue in 1968. In 2008, the reverse was updated using Matthew Dent's design featuring a section of the Royal Arms.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a rare mule design, where the obverse (front) die was accidentally paired with a reverse (back) die from a different coin, resulting in a unique combination that is not meant to be. This error is highly sought after by collectors and can fetch a premium price.
