Comment
It is different from the other 5 ounce "Pirámide del Castillo" coins because this one has an extended legend, but the law which authorized the series didn't allow for any mention of the race or the Pre-Columbian site associated with the design. Some of the coins with the extended legend were sold before the "incorrect" legend was noticed. The existing inventory was pulled and melted, and the new coins minted had the abbreviated and approved legend.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 10 Nuevos Pesos (Pirámide del Castillo - 5 oz Silver Bullion) 1993 from Mexico is that it has a unique pyramid-shaped design, which is inspired by the ancient Mayan pyramids found in Mexico. The pyramid shape is a symbol of the country's rich cultural heritage and history.
