Comment

The bird Phoenix at the obverse represents the rebirth of Greece while the word "αωκα" is referring to the year 1821 (the year of the Greek revolution). Without circle and with different Phoenix (Compared with KM#3 and KM#8).

Interesting fact

The 10 Lepta 1831 coin was designed by the famous German engraver and medalist, Johann Baptist Merkle, who was commissioned by the Greek government to create the coinage for the newly established Kingdom of Greece. Merkle's design features a bust of King Otto I, who was the first king of Greece, on the obverse side of the coin, and an image of the Greek goddess Athena on the reverse side. The coin was minted in copper and has a weight of 15 grams.
