Comment

10 Lari bimetallic coins came in circulation in 2000. But due to high value (it was more than $5 in that period) these coins did not became popular and soon were "self-removed" as people preferred to change this coin to banknotes (1,2,5 and 10 GEL banknotes), and accumulated in banks. So, common opinion that these bimetallics were not circulating issue, is wrong. It is still possible to change 10 GEL banknote to 10 GEL bimetallic coin in the National Cash center, but, of course, You will received VF coin, not UNC.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued to commemorate the 2000th anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ, which is a significant event in the Christian religion. The coin's design reflects this event with an image of Jesus Christ on one side and the Georgian coat of arms on the other. Additionally, the use of bimetallic material, with a copper-nickel center and a nickel brass ring, makes the coin visually distinctive and unique.
