The coin is dedicated to one of the outstanding monuments of Ukrainian architecture of the 18th century where the Western European Baroque canons were brilliantly embodied. The Lviv cathedral was founded by a metropolitan Atanasiy Sheptytskiy. It was constructed in the years 1744 - 1761 according to the design project of Bernard Meretyn, the most distinguished architect of the Dniper Right Bank-Side Ukraine in the epoch.
