This coin celebrates Olesko Castle – a pearl of Lviv oblast. The first historical records of this architectural and historical monument date back to 1327. The castle, which has for many centuries stood on the top of a steep residual hill, has witnessed and been involved in many events that have gone down in the history of Ukraine and its neighboring countries. In the 17th century, Jan Danilowicz turned this medieval fortress into a Renaissance-style palace. The Olesko architectural complex, which apart from the castle also incorporates a Capuchin church with cells for monks, was included on the list of the Golden Horseshoe tourist route (a popular tourist route that resembles a horseshoe).Interesting fact
