Coin is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of introduction of the Magdeburg Right in Kyiv. Kyiv had been governed by the Magdeburg Right from the early 15th century. One of the charters of the Grand Lithuanian Duke Olexander of 1499 confirmed the effect of legal municipal regulations, in accordance with which the towndwellers were governed by the members of the elective self-government and the court.
