Comment
In 1881 the monetary conference took place in Paris. Here the very last battle was fought between the bimetallists and the gold standards. Sweden was represented by the former minister of finance Hans Forsell. When the silver value sank in value against the gold, the multitude overthrow the banks in order to deposit their silver coins in return for gold coins. The pattern coins Forsell took with him struck by The Royal Coin Mint in Stockholm would prove a method that would remedy this occurring problem - silver and gold in the same coin. These coins were minted in seven specimen. Forsell received the "Large Cross of The Legion Of Honor".
