First silver coin (together with the 5 francs 1929), engraved by Roessler and designed by Ludwig Habicht.Several different trial strikes have been struck for this coin (not listed to date on numista.com). They were made of gold, silver, copper, bronze or bronze / aluminum, reeded or smooth.
Strike ordered by the decree of December 9, 1929.
The withdrawal of these documents was ordered by the Grand-Ducal Decree of 14 October 1944 and formalized by public notice dated 4 March 1949. They were still accepted as payment or exchanged at par by the Public Caisses until 30 April 1949 .
