To mark the twentieth anniversary of the Starter Kit and the introduction of the first euros into circulation, the Paris mint is reissuing the Starter Kit euro in the year 2021, along with a number of denominations of the famous Semeuse to mark the occasion.The rectangular shape pays homage to the Starter Kit format.
Interesting fact
The 10 Euro Semeuse coin features the iconic French motif of the "Semeuse" (sower) on its obverse side, which is a representation of a woman scattering seeds, symbolizing the spreading of knowledge and fertility. The design of the coin was created by French artist and engraver, Joaquin Jimenez, and was first introduced in 2021 as part of the French Mint's annual numismatic program.
