Comment
In 1984 in Los Angeles, rhythmic gymnastics, still reserved for women today, made its Olympic debut with an individual event. Twelve years later, in Atlanta in 1996, an ensemble event was added to the program.
Rhythmic gymnastics is a combination of classical and artistic gymnastics, involving the use of four dexterous apparatus: hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon.
Interesting fact
The 2023 French Rhythmic Gymnastics 10 Euro coin features a unique design that incorporates a holographic element, creating a dynamic and eye-catching visual effect. The hologram is located on the reverse side of the coin, which depicts a rhythmic gymnast in mid-performance, surrounded by swirling ribbons. When viewed from different angles, the hologram creates a sense of movement and depth, adding an extra layer of visual interest to the coin's design. This innovative use of holographic technology sets the coin apart from other numismatic pieces and makes it a standout addition to any collection.
