The Le Colbert coin is named after the French statesman Jean-Baptiste Colbert, who served as the Superintendent of Finances under King Louis XIV. Colbert was instrumental in establishing the French currency system and promoting the arts and commerce in France. The coin's design features an image of Colbert on the obverse side, while the reverse side features the famous French phrase "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité" (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity) surrounded by a wreath of olive branches.
