The celebration in 2007 of the "Year of Spain in China" is an initiative developed in the II Spain-China Forum, held in November 2004, and finally decided during the visit to Spain of the Chinese President, Hu-Jintao, in November 2005 .
Its objective is to strengthen friendship and cooperation, promote mutual knowledge of both countries and boost institutional relations, as well as economic activities.
