Comment
The Spanish Constitution is the democratic law that is supreme in the Kingdom of Spain. It was enacted after its approval in a constitutional referendum, and it is the culmination of the Spanish transition to democracy. The Constitution of 1978 is one of about a dozen of other historical Spanish constitutions and constitution-like documents; however, it is one of two fully democratic constitutions (the other being the Spanish Constitution of 1931).
Interesting fact
The interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Spanish Constitution, which was approved by the Spanish people in a referendum on December 6, 1978, and came into effect on December 29, 1978. The coin features an image of King Juan Carlos I on one side and the Spanish Constitution on the other.
