Discovered on the 16th August 1972 eight meters underwater and some 200 metres off the coast of Riace Marina, a municipality of Reggio Calabria, the Riace Bronzes are among the most representative icons of ancient Greek art. According to recent historic-archaeological researches, the two superb statues date back to the 5th century B.C. and they are now conserved at the National Archeological Museum of Reggio Calabria.
